Associate Creative Director – E-commerce

Job Summary:

We are Looking for a passionate, self-motivated associate creative director with proven experience in e-commerce DTC branding and marketing. This individual will empower our creative team with the leadership, guidance and ideas necessary to launch and run ongoing marketing for our e-commerce DTC brands. This person will report to our VP of Creative and our Executive Creative Director. Habitat builds long-term client relationships while contributing to an inspiring and collaborative creative culture. You will craft quality work in the mediums of advertising, social media, conceptual campaigns, product launches, branding, photography, film and video.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take creative leadership on assigned client accounts
  • Produce creative solutions that reflect or instill distinctive brand personality
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, management and the other internal teams
  • Help direct and inspire other Creative team members to fulfill client needs and elevate the quality of our work
  • Provide clear, insightful and objective critiques of Creative work aligned with the strategic vision
  • Help to ensure that deadlines are complete, accurate and followed
  • Contribute to pitches and proposals to ensure Creative is meaningfully leveraged to bring our work to life
  • Manage relationships with vendors (e.g., animators, photographers, illustrators)
  • Remain current on best practices, trends and technology developments in the print and digital media space and in client industries
  • Help create an inviting, stimulating and easily accessible creative environment
  • Formally evaluate team members and provide appropriate input to HR processes
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Relationships:

Reports to: VP of Creative and Executive Creative Director

Supervises: Art Directors and Associate Art Directors

External Relationships: Clients, Vendors

Qualifications:

Education: B.A. degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Art, Advertising or other related discipline

Work Experience: Minimum 5 years’ design experience with 2-4 years’ experience managing/leading creative teams

Work Requirements: Occasional overtime and travel required. May work odd hours.

  • Advanced skill in composition, typography, visual hierarchy, color and image manipulation
  • Expert-level skill with the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Solutions-oriented attitude in both optimal and challenging situations
  • Contribute to business development through new and organic growth opportunities
  • High degree of organization with ability to deliver work in a timely fashion and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly, produce in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
  • Detail orientation with ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously to completion and follow-through to resolve any outstanding issues
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and requirements
  • Positive attitude with ability to lead a team, establish good relationships and collaborate with other departments
  • Ability to maintain good client relations and sales skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with motion graphics a plus
