The Agency Habitat / Lowtown Studios Experience

Our paid internship program is dedicated to recognizing and nurturing young talent by offering hands-on opportunities to learn and grow within a supportive environment. Our mission is to provide interns with an introduction to the next generation brand agency, so they gain the real-world skills needed to excel in their careers. As a part of the Agency Habitat and Lowtown Studios team, our First Assistant Camera (AC) / Editor interns will be immersed in the culture of a dynamic agency from day one and get the opportunity to shadow, learn from, and assist with various day-to-day activities relating to their accounts. First AC / Editor interns will have the opportunity to assist with shooting content in house and potentially on location. They’ll work closely with the Studio and core creative teams to plan, film, edit and deliver video assets to clients that can be used on websites, social media and digital ad placements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

First Assistant Camera:

  • Collaborate with people in other departments such as Account Services to conceptualize video projects
  • Assist with pre-planning including storyboarding shots and set and equipment needs
  • Set up equipment including cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones and props
  • Collaborate with the lighting and grip professionals on set to achieve the desired visual aesthetic
  • Help pull focus during shoots, ensuring sharp and precise images
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues with camera equipment on set
  • Maintain studio order and equipment, including lenses, filters and accessories
  • Prepare background film or ‘b’ roll

Editor:

  • Help organize and manage raw footage, ensuring efficient workflow and file management
  • Support the syncing of audio and video files, creating rough cuts and delivering final edits
  • Perform basic color correction and audio adjustments to ensure high-quality final products
  • Implement creative transitions, effects and graphics such as lower thirds and logo animations to enhance storytelling
  • Work with the Motion Graphic Designer to assist with direction of on-screen text and animation elements needed for the final product
  • Participate in any agency-wide intern projects
  • Travel locally when necessary for assignments
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

 

Knowledge and Skill Set Requirements:

  • Some experience with professional camera systems [ARRI, RED, Sony. DSLRs or cinema camera a bonus]
  • Basic understanding of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve (knowledge of Motion is a plus)
  • Some experience with video shooting, video editing, & retouch skills; photography experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with shot framing, audio set up and lighting set up
  • Basic understanding of lighting and grip equipment
  • Understanding of camera operations, focus pulling and lens characteristics
  • Knowledge of video editing techniques, including color correction and audio editing
  • Some experience with video compression and codecs
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under tight deadlines
  • Strong organization and time management skills

Qualifications:

  • Education: Senior working toward or have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (RTVF/Videography or related fields)
  • Work requirements: Minimum of 20-28 hours per week in our Fort Worth office @ $12/hour
    • Please note, this role may require hours outside of the normal 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. workday, particularly during agency events or special projects. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Our Hiring Process
