Job Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced and visionary Creative Director with a strong background in film and commercial production to lead our video storytelling initiatives. As a part of the Agency Habitat team, our Creative Director – Film & Commercial will be pivotal in defining the creative vision for a diverse range of projects, guiding brands through the strategic development of their video content, and ensuring the delivery of impactful and memorable narratives that deeply resonate with their brand identity.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Leadership & Brand Strategy:
- Develop and champion innovative creative strategies for video content across various platforms and client objectives, always with a deep understanding of the client’s brand and brand identity.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their brand, goals, and target audience, translating insights into compelling video concepts that authentically reflect their voice and values.
- Provide strategic guidance on how brands can best utilize video to tell their unique stories and achieve their marketing objectives, ensuring consistency and coherence across all video assets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in film, commercial production, and digital storytelling.
Storytelling & Narrative Development:
- Lead the conceptualization and development of engaging storylines, scripts, and narratives for film and commercial projects, from larger Connected TV (CTV) spots to short-form social videos.
- Actively participate in writing and crafting compelling narratives that effectively communicate brand messages and evoke desired emotional responses.
- Oversee the entire storytelling process from initial ideation to final execution.
- Ensure all creative output aligns with brand guidelines, project objectives, and audience resonance.
Team Collaboration & Production Oversight:
- Inspire and collaborate closely with a diverse team of writers, animators, art directors, and content creators to bring complex and larger-scale productions to life.
- Effectively manage creative projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, without compromising creative integrity or quality.
- Work closely with production teams, directors, cinematographers, and post-production specialists to ensure creative vision is maintained throughout all production phases.
- Participate in casting, location scouting, and other key production decisions.
- Review and approve all creative deliverables, ensuring the highest quality standards.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Inspire, mentor, and guide a team of creatives to produce exceptional work.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative creative environment.
- Provide constructive feedback and direction throughout the creative process.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted creative advisor who understands their brand deeply.
- Confidently present creative concepts and strategies to clients, articulating the rationale and anticipated impact.
Knowledge and Skillset Requirements:
- Proven expertise in narrative development, scriptwriting, and visual storytelling techniques, with a strong ability to adapt storytelling for different platforms and audience behaviors.
- A deep and nuanced understanding of brand strategy, brand identity, and how to translate brand values into compelling video content.
- Deep understanding of the entire film and commercial production pipeline, from pre-production through post-production.
- Proficiency in storyboarding and visual communication tools.
- Exceptional collaborative skills and a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional creative teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex creative ideas clearly and persuasively.
- A keen eye for detail, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to producing high-quality, impactful work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with diverse brands and industries is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Portfolio Required: Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional film and commercial work across various formats (including CTV and social media), highlighting strong storytelling, strategic thinking, and visual execution.
- Education: Master’s degree in Film, Media Arts, Communication, Advertising, or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree acceptable.
- Work Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in creative roles within film production, advertising agencies or commercial production companies, with at least 5 years in a Creative Director or similar leadership position.
- Work Requirements: Occasional overtime and travel may be required. May work some odd hours.

- Fort Worth, TX. This is an in-person, on-site role.
