Job Summary:


As part of the Agency Habitat team, our Senior Motion Designers work with a highly talented group of artists to design and animate for a variety of digital projects and video content assignments, including social feed content, sizzle reel videos, outdoor experiences, and other branded experiences. This position requires knowledge of motion design production and excellent communication skills to collaborate with different teams and departments to deliver results in a timely manner. We are looking for an artist with unique, compelling, and high-quality work who will contribute creative content to various projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Create and Deliver High-Quality Motion Graphics:

  • Develop and produce 2D and 3D motion graphics and animations for various digital platforms, including social media, websites, and presentations.
  • Ensure all animations meet brand guidelines and align with the company’s visual identity.

Lead Conceptual Development and Storyboarding:

  • Collaborate with creative teams to conceptualize, storyboard, and execute visually compelling animations.
  • Translate complex ideas and information into clear, engaging visual narratives.

Collaborate Across Teams for Integrated Campaigns:

  • Work closely with designers, video editors, marketing teams, and creative directors to bring cohesive visual storytelling across channels.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide insights on how motion design can elevate project outcomes.

Innovate and Push Creative Boundaries:

  • Experiment with new techniques, tools, and styles to produce innovative and trend-forward animations.
  • Provide thought leadership on animation trends and techniques to keep the brand visually competitive.

Mentor and Support Junior Designers:

  • Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior motion designers, helping them develop their skills and grow in their roles.
  • Review work produced by junior designers, ensuring quality and consistency across all assets.

Optimize Animations for Various Platforms:

  • Adapt animations for different formats and optimize for performance across web, mobile, and social media.
  • Work with developers to ensure animations are functional, lightweight, and visually consistent on various devices and browsers.

Manage Multiple Projects and Deadlines:

  • Prioritize tasks and manage timelines across multiple projects, ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Utilize project management tools to keep track of tasks, communicate status updates, and report progress to stakeholders.

Provide Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting:

  • Troubleshoot issues in motion graphics and animations, including rendering, exporting, and compatibility challenges.
  • Implement best practices for file organization, naming conventions, and asset management.

Drive Consistency and Quality Across Visual Content:

  • Establish and maintain quality standards, creating animation guidelines where necessary to ensure brand consistency.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure final animations meet both creative and technical standards before delivery.

Support Marketing and Brand Campaigns:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create animated assets that support product launches, brand campaigns, and social media initiatives.
  • Provide animation solutions that enhance engagement, drive traffic, and increase conversion rates across campaigns.

 

Knowledge and Skillset Requirements:



Portfolio:
A well-curated portfolio demonstrating expertise in motion graphics, animation, and design.

Technical Skills:

  • Animation & Motion Design: Expertise in 2D and 3D animation, with proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, or similar software.
  • Graphic Design Principles: Strong grasp of typography, layout, color theory, and design principles, ensuring cohesive and visually appealing animations.
  • Storyboarding & Concepting: Ability to create storyboards and visualize sequences from concepts to final animations.
  • Editing Software: Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro for video editing tasks.
  • 3D Design Tools: Proficiency in 3D modeling and animation software like Blender, Maya, or Houdini is a plus.
  • UX/UI Knowledge: Basic understanding of UX/UI design to create animations that enhance user experiences on web and mobile platforms.

Creative and Conceptual Skills:

  • Storytelling Ability: A strong sense of narrative structure to ensure animations are both visually engaging and meaningful.
  • Visual Aesthetics: Keen eye for aesthetics and design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of styles and concepts.
  • Innovation and Trends: Up-to-date with the latest trends in motion graphics, video, and interactive design.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure brand consistency and technical accuracy across all projects.

Soft Skills:

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and give constructive feedback.
  • Collaboration: Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including creative directors, designers, and producers.
  • Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills to address design challenges and deliver innovative solutions

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Animation, Multimedia Arts or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in motion design or a similar field, with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Work requirements: Occasional overtime and travel required. May work some odd hours.

 

Relationships:

  • Reports to: Interactive Creative Director and/or their designees
  • External relationships: Clients, Vendors

 

Location:

  • Fort Worth, TX. Must be willing to travel to Fort Worth office consistently for onboarding, continued training, team events and clients as needed.
